I grew up playing baseball as a kid. That’s not a normal thing to do out here in Australia. My heroes weren’t cricketers like Shane Warne or Steve Waugh, they were guys like Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey Jr. Not having grown up in a generational baseball household, I got to root for whomever I chose. Naturally, the proximity of San Franciso to Australia being one of the closer teams for me played a part, but the slugging, Home Run machine in Barry Bonds that attracted me to the Giants. Of course, being into sneakers, too, I always wanted to see my team’s colors splayed across an Air Jordan — and I’m sure you feel the same.

Recently we’ve seen Jordan Brand issue significantly more franchise-themed colorways than years past, though it’s still typically within the white lines of the NBA hardwood. Aside from MLB PE cleats, we rarely see baseball colors on kicks — but we’re hoping that changes. Last week we delivered a Mariners-esqe “Freshwater” Air Jordan 5 into the Concept Lab — and today I bring my San Francisco Giants to the Air Jordan 6. Here, I’ve decked out the white leather base with SFG black and orange throughout. The former arrives along the full length of the sole unit, save the translucent traction pods, midsole paint panels, and pristine white toe cap. The ominous hue also hits the tongue, lace lock, shroud, and heel pull. Orange is ushered in at the midsole detail, rear clip, and branding to complete the design.

Though it’s unlikely we’ll see something like this anytime soon, the abundance of orange Air Jordans on the way is a good thing — for me, at least. Enjoy our creation here below, and keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter accountfor the latest news from Jordan, Nike adidas, and more.
