Two pop-culture icons collide for one epic collaboration; The Caped Crusader meets Chuck, in celebration of the Batman’s big 80th birthday celebration. DC Comic’s key players are celebrated on a series of six Chucks, both high and low, in comical/pop-art stylings. The two Lows take on black bases, one with a clean layout of vintage Batman logos from the past 8 decades — with the most memorable 1990’s motif on the tongues — with the other arriving in a collage-like finish, complete with Gotham’s most notorious villain, the Joker, front and center on the profile panel. The four highs vary in design, with one appearing in a 60’s Pop-Art style featuring Batman and Robin running into battle side by side, while another shows a collage of the duo battling the Penguin, complete with vintage logos and sporadic umbrella print. Another takes the overbranded theme into vintage, distressed, patchwork finishes, while the most simplistic of the pack pairs the 1960’s TV show logo on a white base in a wallpaper-like effect.
80 years on, the comic series still remains as relevant as ever, so we’re sure that this collection will delight sneakerheads both young and old. If you fit that mold, pairs will be arriving at Converse.com come October 21st in full family sizing.
