You can tack on two more releases to January’s “Roswell Rayguns” collection from Nike, Inc, with their subsidiary in Converse adding on-theme pairs of the Pro Leather and Chuck 70.
Originally surfacing on the SB Dunk back in 2005, the theme is a reference to a fictional 1970s ABA franchise imagined by a 2002 Nike ad campaign, the Roswell Rayguns, is one of the brand’s most memorable mock-ups alongside Charlie Murphy’s Leroy Smith, and Michael Jordan’s Johnny Kilroy. It has since gone on to serve many custom creps, but also official releases from Nike. More recently, 2018 saw a very limited “Raygun” Kyrie 3 in reference to the All-Stars interest in skating, and back in December 2019, Nike released two tie-dyed sequels to the original “Raygun” SB Dunks that served as a tribute to the late Nike SB Godfather Sandy Bodecker. Barely a year on, Nike is revisiting the thematic across several silhouettes, including the Air Force 1, Air Raid, Blazer, More Uptempo, Kyrie 7, and now these two options from Converse. Both pairs bring with is a retro 70s vibe, with streaking tri-color stripes, age-look sole units, and Rayguns branding throughout.
With a release date for all pairs now confirmed for January 15th, you can start to ready yourself for the epic drop to kick off the new year.
