Converse Basketball has officially added Atlanta Hawks guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker to its growing roster, bringing another versatile, style-forward athlete into the fold. Known for his defensive instincts, playmaking feel, and fluid on-court presence, Nickeil fits seamlessly into Converse’s vision of basketball as a space driven by creativity rather than convention.
Nickeil’s signing continues Converse’s commitment to athletes who approach the game with their own perspective. His blend of discipline and imagination aligns with a program built around originality, a trait the brand has emphasized since reentering the performance basketball space.
“I’ve always approached basketball as a way to express who I am. Partnering with Converse gives me the space to be creative not just in how I play, but in how I show up,” Nickeil said. “Converse values individuality, and that’s something I’ve always carried with me. I’m excited to join a team that shares my mindset.”
He joins a Converse lineup rooted in innovation and personality, featuring Shai Gilgeous-Alexander—Converse Basketball’s Creative Director—along with Kelly Oubre Jr. and Payton Pritchard. For Nickeil, the move carries an added layer of connection: he and Shai are cousins, longtime training partners, and teammates on Canada Basketball’s Senior Men’s National Team.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker will debut the SHAI 001 during the 2025-26 NBA season, marking the start of a new chapter with Converse as the brand continues expanding its presence across the league.
