Nike, Inc. was founded on the sole principle of developing and selling serious performance footwear for serious athletes. Over the years, the world's largest sportswear company has expanded its scope of focus, blending its expertise in athletic footwear with a heightened fashion sense. A newly-surfaced Converse Chuck 70 capsule illustrates this mastery perfectly, delivering two Swarovski® makeovers.
While difficult to believe today, the Chuck 70's origins are in basketball, being the footwear choice of countless professional hoopers over 60 years ago. In recent times, the Chuck Taylor All Star DNA has gone on to find a home amongst different sub-cultures and fashion-forward folks of all shapes, ages, and sizes. A variety of inline and high-profile collaborations have further distanced the silhouette from its performance days, cementing it as one of the most iconic and versatile sneaker designs of all-time.

Akin to a Chuck 70 De Luxe Squared project from February 2024, the latest Converse offerings are covered in hundreds of shimmering silver stones. Everything from the pairs' classic canvas uppers to the star logo on the high-top opt for the premium update. A special set of lace dubraes also appears across both pairs, bringing another elegant touch to the storied silhouettes.
The Swoosh conglomerate has a history of collaboration with the "Masters of Light." Over the last decade, designs from the beloved Air Max series have appeared with Swarovski® Crystals across their running-informed builds. The ever-popular Cactus Plant Flea Market (CPFM) has also used the Austrian imprint's glass encrustation on its Nike Dunk collaborations (now available on StockX).
Enjoy official photos of both Chuck 70 offerings below. Pairs are expected to land via Converse.com by the start of autumn. The High is priced at $450, with the Low retailing for $350.
