Crocs Dedicates Classic Clog Capsule to Pikachu and Other Starter Pokémon

Satoshi Tajiri's Pokémon universe continues to take footwear form with the help of Crocs.

Ahead of summer, Pikachu and the franchise's starter Pokémon—Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur—have appeared on two different pairs of the popular Classic Clog. Akin to a previously-seen "Versus" pair dedicated to Charizard and Blastoise, the newly-surfaced offerings feature all-over patterns across their Croslite™ upper. The style inspired by Ash's trusty sidekick indulges in shades of pink, as well as a yellow-and-orange gradient that sets the stage for Pikachu's various poses. Jibbitz™ charms depict the fictional icon with heart-shaped eyes, with hearts also landing on the slip-resistant tooling underfoot. Poké Ball and Pokémon branding appear on the heel strap.

By comparison, the Crocs Classic Clog donning Tajiri's starter Pokémon favors a dark-colored base and multi-colored outlines that take after the quartet. Detachable charms take after the Water, Fire, and Grass-type pocket monsters, with one Jibbitz™ boasting Pikachu's likeness. Underfoot, the sole unit draws design cues from the classic Poké Ball's tri-colored look.
