The New Crocs EXP Line Launches with the Trailbreak 2

Crocs began as an innovative idea within the world of boat shoes, but it's become a leader within the comfortable footwear space since 2002. High-fashion co-signs and lifestyle-focused redesigns have also cemented the company within realms and amongst consumers totally different from its original audience. The brand's EXP line – and its inaugural Trailbreak 2 silhouette – further demonstrate its ability to keep things fresh and firm presence outside of the deck.

Inspired by the ideas of express, experiment, and expand, Crocs EXP promises to deliver footwear items for a number of situations rooted in the brand's original commitment to quality and performance. Accompanied by the Quick Trail and Quiet Clog models, the Trailbreak 2 delivers an impressive package that could easily be mistaken for a shoe from a company dedicated to the great outdoors. The silhouette, however, is based off a design from 2010 developed and launched under the creative direction of Charles Johnson.

In comparison to its predecessor, the Trailbreak 2 is a much more robust offering from Crocs. The trail-informed tooling that inspires the model's name is extended to cover all of the midsole and double as a structural sidewall. The proprietary Croslite™ material found on styles like the Classic Clog delivers tried-and-proven performance, while the open-air mesh and "upper" keep things airy. Bungee laces and a pull tab at the heel reprise their roles from the original, creating a clear through-line between both products despite the 15-year gap.

With the Trailbreak 2, the Crocs EXP line makes a compelling debut that exemplifies its design ethos. As its official landing page reads, "This line is a gateway to the next generation of footwear design with progressive design details to keep you a step ahead...Bold new forms blend with utility-focused design for a future-forward expression of style and functionality.
