Steven Smith is just getting started at Crocs. Currently Head of Innovation at the Colorado-based company, the veteran footwear designer is ready to take on Summer 2026 with the ROY, a new clog silhouette from the expert in comfort.

Posted to social media by Jon Wexler, the Crocs ROY by Smith offers a different aesthetic from the Crocs Ripple, Smith's first proposal for the North American institution. The new model seemingly opts for a single or two-piece upper, which sees curved components running atop the foot. Linear gaps are found at the tip of the forefoot, as well as along where a tongue and laces would typically go on a standard shoe. The ROY's collar opening, then, is large as the gap between the Achilles' heel tab and foam "tongue" is wide.

Akin to Crocs Ripple, the ROY design seems to be born out of an exercise in shape and movement. The curved lines, dimples across the bottom profiles, and large gaps left across the top of the laceless model share some D.N.A. However, neither Smith nor Crocs have shared design insight behind the new project.

Stay tuned for firm Crocs.com release details. As with other Crocs EXP™ launches, an early drop could take place at Crocs SoHo in New York City.
