Packer Brings Back the Ellesse Piazza OG
Italian sportswear brand Ellesse has been back on the scene for a minute now, but their success has been mainly in apparel — until now. The Euro brand has called up sneaker heavyweights Packer for a hand in reviving their classic Piazza OG Shoe. It’s no coincidence that the two have linked up; when Packer was based in Yonkers, NY, in the 1980s, the Ellesse Piazza was one of the most sought-after silhouettes on their expansive shelves.
The pair is set to arrive in all of its OG glory, boasting the original detailing that made it so popular over thirty years prior. A 5/8th cut paired with tonal white and tan uppers and colorful heel motifs harken back to the mid-80s, This true-to-the-OG remake even delights store owner Mike Packer, who describes it as his personal “white whale.”
Take a peep at the detailed shots below, and if you’re in New York, Pairs are set to touch down on August 23rd for $120 USD, at Packer’s “Cafe Ellesse” pop-up in NYC’s Refinery Hotel. Stay tuned for details on a wider release.
