    We all knew it anyway.

The NBA G-League is attempting to change the game with their new rule to recruit young superstars to the league, however they seem to have overlooked a few things.

The NBA plans to offer a “professional path” to the G-League with select $125K salaries to players as an alternative to the one-and-done college route, ESPN’s @DraftExpress reports.

The G-League will now offer a $125K contract to any 18-year-old who wishes to skip out on college and go straight into the NBA. However, some are a bit skeptical on the potential success of this new ruling.

I have doubts about how many top players will go this route. Some, yes. But G-League is full of early connecting flights, long bus rides, small gyms. It isn’t glamorous. Big-time NCAA ball still has the trappings of exposure, packed houses, private jets. You’ll get paid there too

Thats a Woj burn right there.

There’s no doubt that college ball is going to be far more luxurious than any NBA G-League team.

The G-League is obviously a lesser league than the NCAA as far as lifestyle goes. You can debate whether or not college athletes gets paid, but it’s pretty obvious that some Division I basketball programs provide some sort of compensation, as Woj points out. It’s hard to imagine many 18-year-old kids choosing the G-League lifestyle over college.

I just don’t think 125K moves the needle & I don’t see many agents recommending this to their clients. Playing in the G League at 18 is a risk, IMO. They get fully exposed to teams, etc.

Woj isn’t the only one who has qualms with the new rulings.

The ruling seems conceptually great, however in reality, it’s likely to crash and burn.
