In the last seven months, Jordan Brand celebrated its 40th anniversary with a meticulous reissue of its original Air Jordan 1. Before summer ends, the eponymous label will debut the Air Jordan 40 to the market, offering yet another expression rooted in the pinnacle of performance basketball. As the imprint looks to its next 40 years, it's invited a host of its athletes and extended family members to Greece to form part of the Board of Greatness.
Comprised of folks like Richard "Rip" Hamilton, Kiefer Ravena, and Cameron Jordan, Jordan Brand's Board of Greatness aims to get those representing the Jumpman together with Michael Jordan to strengthen the label's commitment to excellence, while thinking ahead to the future. Specifics as to what goes on during the weekend haven't been disclosed by any participants, but Rip Hamilton and Ravena shared a special Air Jordan 1 Low OG gifted to them and other attendees to Instagram.

While unassuming in color scheme, the grey, white, and light blue-clad retro is great in all aspects. Crafted in Italy with premium materials, the sneaker is limited to just 180 numbered pairs. Heels feature the Air Jordan's number out of the limited amount, denoting the "Board of Greatness" style as one of the Team Jumpman's most exclusive pairs to date. Special branding appears on the Achilles' heel and by way of a golden BOG-donning hang tag.
The "Board of Greatness" AJ1 Low OG will not be getting a Nike.com/Jordan release. Pairs may eventually make their way to the after-market, but until then, one can only enjoy the special edition retro vicariously through Jordan Brand's exclusive Family & Friends.
