    Let’s Go Gordy!

Before we kick off the 2018/19 NBA season, there’s this little thing called pre-season that we all need to pretend to be excited about. It’s hard to watch. It never gives any real indication of where your team will be at for the incumbent season, and it’s usually loaded with bench players and people we’ve never heard of.

But this year will be a little different, because Gordy is back.

During media day on Tuesday, the Boston Celtics wing let everyone know that he plans to play in the team’s preseason opener on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.

#Haywatch update: Gordon told me he plans to play in the #Celtics first preseason game Friday. Get excited and catch it @NBCSBoston!

Hayward went on to say he’s “basically 100 percent” heading into Friday night, and he’s not going to miss taking the court for the world.

When Gordon signed with Beantown last year, there was plenty of expectation. With the recently signed Kyrie Irving, they looked to be the team in the Eastern Conference that could give the the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers a decent challenge in the East.

But then, we all know what happened to Hayward’s leg in the first few minutes of the season opener between Boston and Cleveland. hell, I don;t even want to talk about it it was that horrific.

Kyrie Irving on finally getting a chance to play with Gordon Hayward: “I think we are able to play together now, one year taken away from us. We’re just making up for lost time. He’s so talented, I’m a big fan.”

But it didn’t deter Hayward for long, as he underwent vigorous rehabilitation and was back up and about in no time — but it would still take the new recruit a full year to recover.

We’re expecting record-high viewership for a preseason game this Friday night, when all eyes will be on Gordy as he makes his triumphant return.

    Good luck Gordon!
