    All ’bout the city.

Nike has officially unveiled its 2018-19 City Edition NBA uniforms, which takes design inspiration from the history and culture of each team’s host city.

With the creative freedom in this process, there’s bound to be a few standouts. And this year, we’re not left disappointed.

The Minnesota Timberwolves “Purple Rain” uniform pays homage to Minnesota icon Prince, with special detailing linking to the late musicians tour outfits, his Paisley Park home and studio, as well as that time he turned himself into a literal symbol. The “Wolves” text on the front is the obvious link, using the same typeface from the Purple Rain album and movie artwork.

The Brooklyn Nets shout out their own musical icon, too, with Notorious B.I.G. AKA Biggie Smalls AKA Frank White AKA Christopher Wallace, with COOGI sweater-inspired detailing around the edges.

A little less celebrity is the Oklahoma City Thunder uniform, which rocks design elements inspired by the state’s Native American heritage. And who could forget the colorful Denver Nuggets’ jerseys from the ’80s and early ’90s? We’ll they’re back — kind of.
