VIDEO // Kawhi Leonard’s Highlights Against Celtics Prove He’s King of the East
I know that it’s only the seconda game of the season, but Kawhi Leonard is making an early case for the MVP race — all while sending a message to the entire Eastern Conference to be scared. Very scared.
The Raptors newest star looked to be back to his best, after lighting up the Boston Celtics for 31 points, receiving some premature MVP chants from the Raptors crowd. Seriously, the dude was just on.
But can you really blame the crowd for getting excited? Leonard hasn’t scored 30 points in a game since May 3, 2017 against the Rockets.
Leonard admitted that he still isn’t at his full potential, since he hasn’t played for nearly a year and a half. If that’s the case, the Celtics, and the entire East, will need to strap themselves in for a long, long season.

After dealing with injury issues all of last season — or was that stubbornness, too? — plenty of people questioned if the 2014 NBA Finals MVP would ever be the same. So far, Leonard looks to be on the right track.
