Jordan Brand has a penchant for recycling, often looking to rehash its old colorways across different models — especially if the colorway is a winner. From "Shattered Backboards" to "Breds," Jordan Brand's knack for capturing a theme and repurposing it to move units is nothing short of business ingenuity. Though at times it can be exhausting, there are plenty of colorways the brand can revisit — like 2018's "Rookie Of The Year" Air Jordan 1 High OG.
Inspired by Michael Jordan's remarkable debut NBA season, the fusion of "Gold Harvest," "Black," and "Sail" hues first adorned the original Air Jordan in 2018. Now, it comes to the Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low. The retro design drew its color scheme from the attire of a promising Chicago Bulls guard at the 1985 Rookie of the Year ceremony, with subtle elements beneath the ankle flaps paying tribute to the prestigious honor. Although the recently-emerged version may not showcase the same thematic narrative and statistics as its four-year-old forerunner, its aesthetic bears a striking resemblance, making it impossible not to draw connections to the earlier release, especially considering the Elevate has referenced other iconic Jordan 1 styles.
Take a look at the additional product photos below, and keep an eye out for the Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low "Rookie Of The Year" to drop on July 21 at select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com, carrying a retail price of $135 USD.
