Despite being designed for the game of basketball, the Air Jordan 1 has adapted to numerous realms since its debut in 1985. In recent years, Jordan Brand has reimagined the silhouette for the baseball diamond, giving players like Aaron Judge a stylish pair to wear on-field.
Previously seen in classic styles like "Chicago" and "Bred Toe," the MCS baseball cleat recently appeared in a "Game Royal/Black/White" makeover. As with offerings for U.S. football, the latest style inspired by one of Michael Jordan's favorite sports features traditional design details across the upper. The sole unit, however, replaces Peter Moore's highly-lauded radial traction in favor of a stud pattern that digs into the baseball diamond. "Game Royal" flair animates the sport-specific sole unit underfoot, as well as panels across the top-half.
Together, each element helps create an aesthetic sure to be appreciated by savvy and casual Air Jordan fans alike.
Enjoy official photos of the "Game Royal" baseball cleats ahead. Pairs should release via Nike.com/Jordan by October for $150.
