Jordan Brand plans to reinvigorate its Air Jordan 1 lineup by reintroducing the iconic "Bred" colorway in 2025, true to its original 1985 specifications.

This decision emerges at a time when the Air Jordan 1 has seen a slight dip in demand, attributed to an oversaturated market and a general cooling of enthusiasm among collectors.

Despite the availability of various reinterpretations in recent years, including satin and patent versions, the upcoming release promises to reignite interest with its adherence to the original aesthetics. Jordan Brand is opting for the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 model for this re-release, which is celebrated for its fidelity to the initial 1985 design.

The choice of the “Bred” colorway is particularly significant. Not just for its historical importance as Michael Jordan’s on-court sneaker that famously flouted the NBA’s uniform regulations, but also for its enduring appeal in the sneaker community. This version’s expected leather construction and authentic detailing will likely draw a strong response from long-time fans and new collectors.

The Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 "Bred" is se to release on February 14th during the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend festivities; the pair has a special connection to the weekend; it was this very shoe that Michael Jordan wore during the 1985 NBA Dunk Contest.
