Despite the Air Jordan 1 ban being debunked (it was the Air Ship that was sanctioned for those playing at home) Jordan Brand continues to revisit their famed “Banned” commercials from 1985. The next to do so is this “Shadow Ban” Air Jordan 1 or, as it’s been dubbed, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Rebellionaire”
The title is quite obviously a play on the fact that the marketing and notoriety around the banning of Air Jordans helped establish Mike’s footwear line to an unprecedented status, and in turn, made Mike a billionaire. Reports from zsneakerheadzdig into the theme further, with all-over text that reads “They can not stop you from wearing them” — a direct reference to the aforementioned Banned ad campaign. It also features the famed Red X motifs at the heel seen on the 2011 Air Jordan 1 “Banned”, though this is the pair’s only hit of red. Everything else arrives in a Shadow-like Black and Grey. Pairs are expected to arrive on March 12, 2022.
