Air Jordan 1 Low "Black Elephant Print" Releases Soon
The Air Jordan 1 Low continues to form an important part of "His Airness"' eponymous label. Away from any Nigel Sylvester co-sign, the silhouette keeps expanding its roster of styles with a healthy mix of heritage and modern sensibilities.
For its latest presentation, Peter Moore's low-top design has taken on a black-and-yellow color scheme. The color palette isn't new to the Air Jordan line, but its execution on the impending retro delivers a breath of fresh air. Leather makes up the bulk of the upper's build, opting for a stealthy color scheme that also takes over the sole unit. A miniature swoosh on the lateral forefoot works in-tandem with Wings and Jumpman-in-a-triangle emblems on the spine and tongue, respectively, to interrupt the black finish with yellow flair. Furthermore, elephant print borrowed from Tinker Hatfield's Air Jordan 3 lands on the toe box and along the profiles. The result is an AJ1 Low that plays with Michael Jordan's footwear legacy.
Over the years, other iterations of the Air Jordan 1 have looked to Hatfield's first design for MJ for inspiration. The newly-surfaced pair likely won't be the last.
