In the universe of the Air Jordan 1, fans are accustomed to receiving varied adaptations rather than straight-up retro replicas of original designs. From Satin Breds to "Lost & Found" Chicago, Jordan Brand has constantly kept us on our toes. Another variant inspired by the original is set to hit the shelves in 2023 – the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “University Red Red,” a pair inspired by the original 1985 "Red Metallic" release.
Anticipate the new version to hold onto the trademark white leather build and the dual-tone sole unit at the base. The revised design, however, swaps the metallic red swoosh and heel overlay with robust red leather, keeping the color blocking intact. The tongue will sport the Nike Air branding, while the Wings motifs on the backstay, an homage to Peter Moore’s original 1985 design, will be retained.
First looks at the new-yet-familiar release have just landed, so take a moment to familiarize yourself with the forthcoming variant below as we build up to it's October 13th release.
