As has become custom over the last handful of years, Jordan Brand is celebrating Día de Muertos 2026 with ornate footwear styles. Up first is an Air Jordan 1 Low OG limited to just 5,026 pairs and an equally-decorative, but more available Air Jordan 1 Mid.
The retro duo lives under the "Somos Historias" banner, which translates to "We Are Stories" or "We Are Histories." Right off the bat, it seems Team Jumpman wants to remind all interested parties in its commemorative Air Jordans that everyone has a personal story, which forms part of their family's and Society's collective history.
If you aren't familiar with Día de Muertos, this message might seem a little too profound for retro basketball sneakers, but that's why it's important to have some knowledge of the Day of the Dead celebration that's recognized in Mexico and some neighboring countries on Nov. 1.
People remember their loved ones who've transitioned into the afterlife by way of special altars, laying out food and drink under the belief that on this day, those who've passed visit earth momentarily. The Xoloitzcuintle (Mexican hairless dog) is a guide on the spiritual plane and is featured across Jordan Brand's Día de Muertos 2026 Collection.

Custom packaging for each Air Jordan 1 takes after a stone style and features a heartfelt reminder about the importance of family, significance of Día de Muertos, and the lasting legacy of personal stories underneath the lid.
The aforementioned Xolo is featured on the backside of the AJ1 Low OG's tongue, just above a tag that tells you which number out of 5,026 pairs you've received. The AJ1 Mid sees the thematic symbol on the tongue label's front side, accompanying the Jumpman logo.
A handful of apparel styles have also joined the range: the Jordan Flight Varsity Jacket, Jordan Brooklyn Graphic T-Shirt, Fleece Hoodies, a Reversible Mesh Jersey. All pieces see uses of stone-inspired imagery and earth tones that match the footwear.
Enjoy detailed product shots of the special-edition collection. The retros and clothing are expected to release via Nike.com/Jordan by Tuesday, Oct. 13.
