Babies born over the last year were certainly not around for the premiere of Space Jam, but that isn't stopping Jordan Brand from including them in the 30th Anniversary "Space Jam" Collection.
Today, Michael Jordan's eponymous label has unveiled more than a dozen different products and initiatives meant to celebrate the pop culture moment that was Space Jam in 1996—among them, the Jordan First 1 for Babies.
Although some parents view footwear for those under the age of one pointless, the Space Jam-inspired low-top sneaker not only allows any new addition to the family to partake in the milestone celebration, but also serves as a reminder of the greatness every child is capable of (and should be encouraged to strive for).
As with the entire Jordan Brand "Space Jam" Collaboration, the First 1 offering is rooted in the central idea of the accompanying "Greatness Is Never Out of Reach" campaign, which looks to inspire new generations to stretch beyond their perceived limits. Effectively, the Baby's Jordan First 1 is meant to be present for a child's first step towards greatness.

In comparison to the marquee Air Jordan 11 "Space Jam" retro, the shoe design for first-time walkers and Toddlers indulges in a vibrant mix of colors. "Light Soft Pink" sets the stage for a multi-colored mix of "Sunset Pulse," "Varsity Royal," and "Aluminium," which claims stake to leather panels across the upper, embroidered Swooshes, heel pull tabs, and other elements.
Traditional Jumpman logos on the tongue label are replaced air a "Hare" Jordan logo that also appears on the aptly-named "Hare" Jordan 1 Mid.
Enjoy detailed photos of the Baby & Toddler's Jordan First 1 ahead. The shoe is expected to release via Nike.com/Jordan on Thursday, Nov. 5.
