The Nike, Inc. conglomerate is the world's largest sportswear brand. As such, it produces high-performing gear and equipment for sports of all kinds. And while it continues to innovate all-new product, other offerings are experimental re-toolings of some of its most popular designs. Case in point?: The Air Jordan 1 Low TD, a football cleat version of the iconic basketball shoe from 1985.

Previously seen in a "Bred Toe" iteration, the newly-surfaced retro takes on a "Metallic Gold/White/Black" color combination worthy of a "Gold Toe" moniker. Although the forthcoming cleat is the style's first appearance for the gridiron, it appeared on an Air Jordan release in October 2018. The shimmering pair quickly sold out and fetches a decent sum on the after-market. Its modified iteration might not see the same popularity, but it further brings Michael Jordan's winning legacy to another realm.

Like its predecessor, the most recent "Gold Toe" offering from Team Jumpman features patent leather panels across the upper. "White" layers at the mid-foot blend in with the segmented, cleated tooling underfoot, which replaces Peter Moore's tried-and-proven midsole-outsole setup (also found on the Nike Dunk Low). The faithful interpretation also includes different branding on the insoles, boasting the beloved Wings logo on the left shoe's footbed.

The low-top football cleat could also kick-off the retail relationship between Jordan Brand and Academy Sports. The Katy, Texas-based sporting goods shop which is scheduled to begin selling performance product from the company on Tuesday, April 1.

This pair is available now on Nike.com.
