Air Jordan 1 Mid “Color Change” Arrives August 11th
A feature once prevalent across the custom sneaker circuits, UV and heat-sensitive sneakers have become the latest weapon in footwear arsenals. Last year’s Civilist x Nike SB Dunkwas a breakthrough release, but since then we’ve seen the finish on both Kanye’s 350 v2 and a duo of Air Force 1s — the latter two mere weeks ago. Now it’s time for Mike to enter the UV-sensitive arena, with his mass-market mover the next to tackle the chameleon finish.
Though the silhouette itself is quite divisive, we’re tipping that this color-changing colorway will tilt the balance towards the positive end of the spectrum. Here, it arrives in a classic Black Toe arrangement, with smooth white leather uppers, buttery black leather overlays at the forefoot and Swoosh, and white nylon tongues, too. Collars arrive here in crisp white, as do the midsoles, and the pair is book-ended by black liners and outsoles. Its basic two-tone make-up is catapulted into color at the back end, with overlays donning a kaleidoscope of colors that seemingly change depending on UV light/heat. The finish is then replicated on the tongue to complete the design.
A release date for this color-changing Air Jordan 1 Mid has not yet been announced, but you should expect to see pairs arrive over the Spring/Summer season when the sun is at its absolute best.
