This Air Jordan 1 Mid Revisits 2019's "LA to CHI" Concept

Jordan Brand continues to be self-referential. Its latest Air Jordan 1 Mid features a color palette and material execution similar to Nike SB's "LA to CHI" project from 2019.

Officially clad in a "True Red/White/Court Purple/Black" color scheme, the pair features a faded presentation around the ankle and lower heel. The finish bears resemblance to the skateboarding-inspired pair from six years ago, which signaled the Air Jordan retro's fade-away uppers. Purple-and-gold components appear throughout the forefoot, referencing the Los Angeles Lakers' iconic colors. As with its predecessor, the special AJ1 Mid nods to the importance of LA and Chicago in the worlds of sport and culture.

Mismatched insoles appear as part of the sneaker. The Nike Dunk-reminiscent outsole rounds out the ensemble in "Court Purple."
