Although much of the Air Jordan series is tied to Chicago Bulls-friendly color schemes, Jordan Brand has explored numerous ensembles after the retirement of "His Airness." Some of these finishes have become modern classics, covering new retro styles celebrated by fans.
Ahead of summer, an Air Jordan 1 Mid has appeared in a "Black/Palomino/University Red/Phantom" color scheme. The pair evokes images of the "Palomino" AJ1 Retro High OG from September 2023, which featured an aesthetic made popular by the one and only Travis Scott. Bringing successful colorways from the tallest Air Jordan 1 to both Mid and Low trims isn't new, but the appearance of a "Black/Palomino" duo in mid-2026 is of note given that the silhouette hasn't been as sought-out by the masses over the last year. Perhaps a recognizable color scheme can change that, however.
The Mid-top retro also bears semblance to the "Mocha Brown" Air Jordan 1 from October 2020, another pair that helped Team Jumpman capitalize on the market's interest in Cactus Jack aesthetics.
Enjoy official photos of the latest "Palomino" retro ahead. Pairs should make their way to Nike.com/Jordan by the end of September.
