Jordan Brand's 40th anniversary has included handfuls of retros harkening back to some of its products' original runs. To keep things fresh and showcase just how prolific His Airness' winning legacy has become in this timeframe, the eponymous label has also reimagined designs like the Air Jordan 1 Mid in playful makeovers distanced from their performance origins. Case in point?: A spring-friendly outfit inspired by peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Officially clad in a "Desert/Pale Ivory/Fusion Red" color combination, the impending take on the debut Air Jordan silhouette features a leather and suede build across the upper. The latter material takes on a sandy tone that evokes images of sandwich crusts given its textured presentation. A brown speckling lands across the off-white midsole, further cementing the pair as a playful offering rather than a hoops-ready proposal. The tried-and-proven outsole indulges in a semi-translucent "Fusion Red" hue that also animates Jumpman labels on the tongue.

A product description for the retro shares details behind the mouth-watering inspiration. Insoles feature a 23 figure stylized as gooey strawberry jelly. The profile swooshes, however, deliver the clearest through-line to the beloved peanut butter and jelly combination, donning a cut-out presentation that sees "Fusion Red"-colored detailing oozing across the iconic logo.

Enjoy official photos of the Big Kids' "PB&J" Jordan 1 Mid. Pairs are expected to release via Nike.com by the end of April for $120. Other styles donning similar branding could also surface by then.
