They’re back!
They haven’t been gone for long, though, with the OG Air Jordan 1 making a return to retailers in 2015. And while they may have sat on shelves that year, there’s no doubt Virgil Abloh’s efforts on the original ’85 colorway has sparked some new love for the Tarheels-themed colorway.
But its return to market just four years later seems a little too soon, right?
But when you add this to this year’s news of a men’s patent leather UNC pair to accompany the ladies pair that arrived at All-Star weekend, it starts to make a little bit of sense.
This wouldn’t be the first time the colorway has donned the shiny stuff, though, with the Air Jordan 1 Mid “UNC” arriving alongside the patent leather “Chicago” and Back/Gold Jordan 1 Mids back in 2003. Unlike that drop, this will be a High OG, though.
We’re still waiting on official confirmation, but sources are suggesting a release circa Fall 2019. Stay tuned for first looks and more deets!
