This Air Jordan 12 is Set to Kick-Off the FIBA Basketball World Cup
Paying homage to the host nation.
Between August 31st and the 15th of September 2019, hoop fans will be tuning in to the 18th FIBA Basketball World Cup, held in the hoop-loving nation of China.
And to celebrate, Jordan Brand is dropping a very special pair of kicks that pay homage to the host nation.
If you’re a sneaker historian, you’ll know that the Air Jordan 12 was the very first Air Jordan to debut in China back in 1997 — so it’s only fitting that it’s the FIBA edition J. Adding to the geo-celebration is the obvious shoutout to the nation’s national colors of red and gold, seen on their country’s flag, traditional artifacts and, well, pretty much everything in the nation.
No images have surfaced as of yet, but we’ve whipped up a render to give you a pretty good idea of what to expect come August 24th, 2019.
Stay tuned for first looks and more deets.
