After a (more than a) handful of collaborations, we finally have an original colorway confirmed to return in 2022, with the Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” set to hit shelves over the Holiday 2022 season.

According to reports from Sneakerfiles, the 2022 reissue of the OG Air Jordan 2 “Chicago” will return to its original specifications, inclusive of the pair’s original boxing.

Expect to see a mix of premium white leather panels without the Black pipping, complete with perforations working around the midfoot and toe. Reptile-textured leathers will return to the profile just above the wide-reaching heel clips. The back-end boasts both black and red accents, while black liners, laces, and midsoles sandwich the pair. Underfoot, you can expect the same-old red, white, and black business, while red Wings branding at the tongue will complete the design.

First released back in 1986, the sneaker has seen a handful of re-releases in both Low and Mid/High formats, dating back to the first run or retros back in 1994. We’ve since seen retros in 2004, 2010, and 2016, none of which married up as close to the original as the 2022 release is expected to do.
