On-Foot Looks // Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red” OG
There are sneaker rumors, and then there are sneaker rumors. And when it comes to OG re-releases, people get a little more excited than usual. Especially for a sneaker that has not yet been blessed with a proper OG-branded re-release. So when SBD dropped the rumore that the Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red” would be returning in OG format for Fall 2022, we — along with a lot of you, we bet — went gorillas.
The pair was originally released back in 1988 alongside three other OG schemes in the White Cement, Black Cement, and True Blue iterations, all of which have received an OG Nike Air-branded retro in recent years. Though the Fire Red did release again in 2007 and 2013, Jordan Brand hit us with the blasphemous Jumpman branding. If the rumors are true, it would finally mark an end to a 33-year absence of the OG Fire Red, and a welcome return for fans of the brand new and old.
