Jordan Brand’s connections with the City of Love go way back to 1985, where MJ headed out to Paris for a pre-season exhibition game. He was famously snapped outside the Eifel Tower in the OG Royals and ever since then, the city became a big part of Michael and his brand. They now have ties with the city’s professional football team, PSG, opened an epic flagship store in town for the brand’s 30th Anniversary, and they also sponsor the long-running Quai 54 Streetball tournament. So when word broke out that 2020 would see the city hosting its first official regular-season NBA game, you just knew Jordan Brand would deliver something special for the momentous occasion — and they have with this ultra-limited Air Jordan 34 “Paris”
The byname “Paname”, the city’s surname, is printed along the quarter, while oversized iridescent Jumpman and “75” — the city’s area code — is boldly planted on the heels.. Soft pastel hues in pink and purple cover the upper in a randomized fashion, with the TPU Eclipse plate following suite. Contrasting black panels of black on the tongue and heel, along with detail on the forefoot offer some much-needed breaks, and the pair is completed with yellow heel pulls and pink Jumpman branding on the tongues.
Pairs are limited to just 500 units, as indicated on the inside of the tongue, which means that there will be a tough one to get your hands on — especially due to the fact that these will likely be a regional exclusive. A release date for the Air Jordan 34 “Paris” has not yet been set, but with the NBA Paris Game tipping off on January 24th, you can expect a release to hit Nike SNKRS in and around that date.
