Air Jordan 35 “Bred” Drops January 8th

It’s been evident that Jordan Brand‘s endeavors into its current-day signature sneakers have, despite their forward-thinking tech, been heavily focused on the past. We’ve seen 30-year-old inspiration hit Air Jordans 31-thru-35, each taking in select elements from their respective anniversary sneaker. This year’s Air Jordan 35 tackled the iconic Air Jordan 5, incorporating elements like the tongue and midfoot mesh into its ultra-futuristic design. But it’s not just the physical elements that have been filtering through, but colorways, too, have been playing a considerable role in the line’s release run. Now, following on from the Black Metallic-like “DNA” drop earlier this year — and the just-leaked “Fire Red” rendition — comes this “Bred”-inspired release, one which mimics the brand’s unmistakable signature black and red blocking

Channeling the OG Air Jordan 4 more than others, the pair’s black suede upper, white midsole, and the red rubber outsole is almost a perfect match, with just a few select areas open to a modern interpretation. Red flecks are applied to both the midfoot netting and laces, while reflective tongues harken back to 1990’s Silver Tongue Air Jordan 5. Red-to-black gradient Eclipse plates add a futuristic feel, one which comes juxtaposed against a splattered midsole — an early-90s era staple.

A release date for the Air Jordan 35 “Bred” has been confirmed by a slew of retailers including Dick’s and Foot Locker for January 8th. Expect pairs to arrive in both Adults and Gradeschool sizing on the day from 10 am ET.
