Air Jordan 35 Low “White Metallic” Arrives April 17th

It’s been evident that Jordan Brand‘s endeavors into its current-day signature sneakers have, despite their forward-thinking tech, been heavily focused on the past. We’ve seen 30-year-old inspiration hit Air Jordans 31-thru-35, each taking in select elements from their respective anniversary sneaker. This year’s Air Jordan 35 tackled the iconic Air Jordan 5, incorporating elements like the tongue and midfoot mesh into its ultra-futuristic design. But it’s not just the physical elements that have been filtering through, but colorways, too, have been playing a considerable role in the line’s release run. Now, following on from the Black Metallic-like “DNA” drop late last year comes its alternate white option (a colorway first released back in 2000) — this one in a Low.

Once again, the colorway is not an identical cross-over, though there are some strong comparisons. The heavily tumbled white leather upper is reminiscent of the pair’s 2015 re-release, while 3M reflective tongues and a mostly white build throughout are comparable. Eclipse plates at the midfoot nod the inspiring pair’s forefoot teeth, while black branding found at the AJ5’s tongue has now migrated underfoot. Completing the design is the inclusion of a perforated leather panel in the rear, a tacked-on Nike Air heel tag, and thick-cut tongue pulls.
