2006 was a golden era for Air Jordan releases, with bonafide classics dropping left, right and center. It was just the sixth year into their Retro+ program (new, non-OG colorways) and they’d begin to hit their stride — even their unreleased samples from ’06 slap harder than most modern releases. Like many of the general releases from that time, the Air Jordan 5 “Stealth” was left on shelves but has since established itself as a nostalgic fan-favorite Now it appears that it (or something very much like it) will be returning in 2021, a good 15 years after its first release.

Sneaker-leaker@SHOF has spilled the beans on a new Air Jordan 5 for early 2021, featuring an almost identical color listing to that of the original. This pair, though, is expected to include black — perhaps on the insole or tongue branding. As for now, a release is pegged for the first half of next year, so first looks won’t become available until later this year at the earliest. As part of Jordan Brand’s unveiling of their Spring 2021 collection, official imagery — and also a first look — at the Air Jordan 5 “Stealth 2.0” have arrived. While it does boast a very close likeness to the original pair from 2006, it does arrive with some noticeable changes; Leathers are swapped from smooth to tumbled, while tongue liners and midsole teeth are now tinted in black. There’s also the addition of a blue toe at the outsole.
