Jordan Brand Cancels Air Jordan 6 "Light Aqua" Release

The planned Air Jordan 6 “Light Aqua” has reportedly been cancelled, removing what would have been one of Fall 2026’s more vibrant additions to the retro lineup.

Initially expected to deliver a bold, seasonal twist on Tinker Hatfield’s 1991 design, the Air Jordan 6 “Light Aqua” was rumored to feature a tonal nubuck upper in a bright aqua finish. Black and metallic silver accents were said to provide contrast across the midsole and heel tab, while an icy translucent outsole would have grounded the look in familiar Jordan Brand DNA. Though only speculative renderings had surfaced, early details suggested the pair would continue the brand’s run of vivid, statement-making takes on heritage silhouettes.

In recent years, Jordan Brand has leaned into expressive color palettes across classic models, particularly in women’s and extended sizing runs. The cancellation of the Air Jordan 6 “Light Aqua” signals another shift in the evolving 2026 release calendar, as the brand continues refining its seasonal strategy.
