Air Jordan 6 Low “Dongdan” Celebrates a Decade of Chinese Streetball
OG Post 10.15.20 // Last seen circa 2015, the low-cut edition of Mike’s sixth signature sneaker will be making a return in 2021, with an upcoming Air Jordan 6 Low “Dongdan” — originally titled “Tour Yellow” and incorrectly “Day of the Dead” — expected to kick things off for the silhouette’s return to the market.
First info obtained by HOUSE OF HEAT has the SP (special-edition) pair set to arrive in a mix of White, Black, Tour Yellow, and Total Orange. At this stage, how these colors will be arranged is a mystery, so we’ve put together a speculative set of mock-ups based around the Infrared Low blocking — an arrangement we’d definitely love to see take shape come 2021.
Update 04.07.21 // More info on the Air Jordan 6 Low “Tour Yellow” provided by zSneakerheadz has the pair linked to the annual Day of the Dead celebration. This means that you can expect to see some thematic embellishments across the release — but just exactly how these will appear remains a mystery for now. Given the theme, you can now expect the pair to release around late October. Until more details emerge, Grab a look at the placeholder mock-ups here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
Update 04.24.21 // A first look at the Air Jordan 6 Low “Tour Yellow” has landed. Here, for the first time, we see the pair’s yellow-to-orange gradient upper, white leather overlays, and jet black liners, midsoles and mini shroud. It does appear from this very limited look that outsoles may well be translucent. Grab a first look at the pair here below, and keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
Update 07.26.21 // Sources in China have revealed that the pair in question is actually tied to the annual Dongdan Summer streetball tournament in China. Forming part of a wider pack including this reflexology-inspired Air Jordan 35 Low, the Air Jordan 6 Low “Dongdan” is one piece of a collection that celebrates the event’s 10th anniversary. Like the 35, this too features reflexology chart detailing (seen here underfoot) and modified Chinese characters in the rear. Close-up shots show that the pair’s upper is, in fact, canvas, and not leather as first thought.
Update 08.18.21 // Official images of the Air Jordan 6 Low “Dongdan” have landed ahead of their release later this month.
With the collection’s apparel already available throughout Nike China, those in the region can expect to see a release of the footwear pack on August 29th. Grab a detailed look at the Air Jordan 6 Low “Dongdan here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates from Jordan Brand.
