Today, the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) is helping kick off Nike, Inc.'s 2026 FIFA World Cup™ kit announcements with the unveiling of Brazil's Away kit for the tournament. In an unexpected turn of events, the "Seleção" will wear jerseys branded with Michael Jordan's iconic Jumpman logo.

Jordan Brand's signature emblem has appeared across football culture before—primarily through a global partnership with France's Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)—but its appearance on Brazil's '26 Away jersey marks its first time on a national football team's kit. The Jumpman logo has long represented greatness, a quality respected in cities like Paris, Chicago, and São Paulo.

The collaboration between the CBF and Jordan Brand demonstrates the eponymous label's continued commitment to culture and celebration of excellence across a variety of disciplines.

"[The] Away kit gives us a canvas to express [the] creativity that's [similar between Brazil and Jordan Brand]," shared Jordan Clarke, Global GM, Global & American Football, Baseball & Training at Jordan Brand, in a press event prior to the jersey's launch.

Developed with the Swoosh's innovative Aero-FIT cooling technology, which promises more than 200% more ventilation that its predecessor, the shirt features an unusual print across its build. The abstract design is rooted in the CBF's "Joga Sinistro" marketing campaign ahead of the World Cup™, which plays with the notion that the Brazil National Football Team is most lethal when athletes play with a smile on their faces. Furthermore, the two-word Portuguese phrase harkens back to "Joga Bonito" Nike Football adverts from yesteryear, and the general on-pitch philosophy with which the South American nation's most-celebrated squads are associated.

According to Mackenzie Sam, Global Men's Apparel Design Director at Jordan Brand, the Away jersey's all-over pattern is inspired by a concept that imagines Vinicius Junior, Estêvão, Casemiro, Marquinhos, and the rest of Carlo Ancelotti's men as apex predators. Three of Brazil's deadliest animals—poison dart frog, green anacondas, jaguars—informed the aforementioned pattern and its shape.

MJ himself was known for his ultra-competitiveness and killer instinct—so much so that they inspired his "Black Cat" moniker. The Air Jordan 13 from his 1998 NBA title was famously inspired by the black panther. Before that, the Air Jordan 5 included "shark teeth" on the midsole referencing the Chicago Bulls legend's ability to strike like a fighter jet.

Brazil's Visitor's shirt for the next World Cup™ sees a black base overlaid with a number of strips that form a pattern inspired by Brazil's lethal creatures. The CBF's crest is placed at the center of the chest— above it, five stars indicating the nation's total World Cup™ wins; below, "Brasil" is done in a vibrant yellow that's enabled the team's "Canarinho" ("Little Canary") nickname.

The chest's upper-right section is reserved for Jordan Brand's Jumpman logo, also done in the eye-catching yellow that's synonymous with Brazil's Home kit.

Elsewhere, lines seen over the shoulders indulge in yellow flair, but share the spotlight with a green ventilation section on the backside that runs down the sides of the body and end above the waist. Shorts follow a similar design, which blends Nike Total 90 footballing heritage and the legacy of Jordan Brand Flightsuits made popular by "His Airness" during his time with the Bulls.

Brazil's '26 Anthem Jacket features similar elements.

Brazil's collaboration with Team Jumpman is a celebration of the magic that occurs when performance meets entertainment. Mike, like Ronaldinho and the dozens of other players that helped their country become the most-winningest team in the World Cup™, displayed a certain excellence and grace on-court without compromising results. And fans realize this.

"Jerseys are worn as part of the everyday life...[Brazilians] like to bring football into their day-to-day activities," shared Liv Bolung, Senior Manager & Men’s Apparel Designer at Jordan Brand, when speaking on her and her team's design process behind the Away jersey's accompanying off-pitch collection.

Estêvão, the 18-year-old forward representing Brazil in the Premier League and national team said: "For me, this partnership shows the world the power of Brasilian culture. Our football has style, joy, and a unique way of expressing who we are. When I first saw the new jersey — its colors, its details — I felt that energy immediately. It represents us, on and off the pitch. Having Jordan Brand stand with us amplifies that feeling and pushes me to play with even more boldness, to show what the new generation of Brasil can do."

By the end of March, CBF and the Swoosh empire should have unveiled Brazil's '26 Home jersey for the impending tournament. Until then, however, the partnership between Jordan Brand and the beloved national team will revel in the moment—blending legacies that've transcended sport to become cultural forces.
