Long before he turned badass in Breaking Bad, Giancarlo Esposito was in a little film called ‘Do the Right Thing.’ The 1989 Spike Lee classic is still very relevant today – and a must watch for any film buff. It’s even got a classic sneaker reference that has stood the test of time.
The moment in question is when a Celtics fan accidentally scuffs up Buggin’ Out’s (Esposito) fresh pair of White Cement 4’s. (Haven’t we all been there? you just want to raise all kinds of hell.)
In tribute to the film, Jordan Brand have recreated a version of the sneaker, all the way down to the scuff, the rasta lace locks – and even the toothbrush he used to clean his kicks. Along with the Air Jordan 4 comes a brand new Jordan Fly 89 and a Jason Markk cleaning kit. These are only available for family and friends – with little to no chance of ever releasing.
If you haven’t seen the film – do so now. But here is the iconic scene below!
