The Air Jordan 1 may no longer have a chokehold on the world of sneakers, but it remains one of the most recognizable designs of all-time.
Over the last handful of years, Peter Moore's 41-year-old design has emerged in countless ensembles, with a couple dozen pairs being collaborative efforts between Team Jumpman and some cultural figure, institution, or brand. In 2014, Hiroshi Fujiwara lent his creative vision to the silhouette's High OG iteration via his fragment design imprint. Special on its own, a recent pair customized by Chrome Hearts appeared on social media, reminding folks of just how important the standalone project was while also showcasing it as a platform for expensive creativity.
The retro landed at vintage connoisseur Casanova in Ginza, Tokyo. Fujiwara's take on the original Air Jordan is intact, but joined by ornate hardware from the Los Angeles-based institution. Special lace dubraes, eyelets, and details on the spine make the newly-surfaced custom rare.
Don't expect the Chrome Hearts-customized style to ever land via Nike.com/Jordan, but be on the look out for other limited editions projects with the help of House of Heat°'s dedicated Jordan Release Dates Calendar.
