Sneakers of Champions.
Here’s an MJ record you might not know about. The Hall of Famer not only holds the records for most Finals MVPs, most held scoring titles, the highest career regular-season scoring average (30.12 points per game) and highest career playoff scoring average (33.45 points per game) — he also holds the top spot when it comes to Wheaties box features with 18, four ahead of the second-placed Tiger Woods.
As our Social Media team went through all 18, it was clear what our favorite was: 1990’s cheesy-grinned Jumpman, donning the fresh Hornets-themed merch complete with tacky speed-motions and ultra-90s geometrics. But aside from that, it’s the on-foots that got us the most excited: the Grape 5s:
Now, I don’t know about the cut of that sweatshirt, but those 5s are perfection.
So with 18 appearances under his belt — a record that will likely remain untouched — why hasn’t Jordan Brand celebrated this achievement? Well, we have. And here’s hoping JB do, too.
One day, at least.
