    Black and red ain’t dead.

The Bulls may be struggling, hard, but their legacy as a franchise still holds clout — all thanks to one man.

Fittingly, today’s sneaker was the one worn by that during his efforts to bring the city of Chicago their first NBA title. Mike’s legacy as a Bull goes beyond basketball, too. The iconic “Bred” colorway spread to a tone of Nike sneakers during the period, literally painting the 90s in black and red. And still, to this day, Nike and Jordan brand own that colorway.

But today, we’re flipping the switch. It’s a strange one — most of Mike’s OG sneakers arrive in either black or white, but none really come predominately in red (the Chicago and Bred 1s and Carmine 6 are the only that come to mind). Considering the Bulls Jersey is typically seen as red, you’d think there’d be more of it in the signature line.

But as Mike said when he got drafted to the Windy City: ‘Those are the Devils colors’, perhaps we can start to understand why.

Things have changed since then, of course. With colorways like 2013’s Toro Jordan 4 and 5, 2017’s Win Like ’96 Air Jordan 11 and of course, the Infrared23 Air Jordan 6.

But today we’re going down the Gym Red line, more suited to that of the Bulls uniform — and not too dissimilar to the aforementioned Air Jordan 11. It’s a simple flip on the OG Infrared, with the black replacing the branding hits, and the upper being replaced by a Gym Red microsuede upper.
