WAYYYYY back Wednesday.
When I first started creating sneaker concepts, I kept it simple. Not because it was easy, but because of minimalistic shows off the beauty of the design. My very first public concept was the Air Jordan 9 “Cheesecake”, which adorned cream and white, with hints of gold and deep red.
They were initially titled “Cream of the Crop” — as is Michael’s ability to perform at an elite level each and every year without fail, rising to the top, putting him in a class of his own. But, as is with real sneakers, fans like to give it their own nickname. And the “Cheesecake” series was born.
I moved from the Nine to the Four, then to the 7. I have remastered the first two, so it was time to reinvent the third installment. And here she is: simplistic, minimal and beautiful.
