Eastside Golf, the trailblazing Black-owned golf brand, will complete their three-pair "1961" series with Jordan Brand with a striking adaptation of the Air Jordan 1 High OG.
The creation is not just a shoe but a powerful statement, as it forms part of Eastside Golf’s tribute to a pivotal moment in the history of golf.
Taking inspiration from the Air Jordan’s classic “Bred” color scheme, this Air Jordan 1 Golf showcases a sumptuous fusion of rich green and black. The green hue dresses the panels at the toe, profile Swooshes, ankle flaps, and the lower heel, while the black provides a balanced backdrop. But it’s in the intricate details where the true spirit of this collaboration reveals itself.
One cannot overlook the handwritten “Eastside Golf” inscriptions that delicately grace the side Swooshes, a testament to Eastside Golf's burgeoning presence in the golf world. Moreover, the brand’s signature golf player logo proudly adorns the tongue's top.
Adding an extra layer of finesse, the “Wings” logos on the lateral ankle flap are rendered in a dazzling golden finish, reminiscent of other pairs from the “1961” collection. But perhaps the most poignant touch is the word “Change.” etched onto the heel, signifying the watershed moment in 1961 when Charles Sifford broke barriers as the first black man to earn a PGA Tour Pro Card.
This collection also features the golf-ready Air Jordan 6 Low and Jordan ADG 4, each paying homage through their designs to this monumental era.
As Eastside Golf continues to connect with a new generation of golfers, this collection stands as a beacon, reminding us of the change that has been and is yet to come.
At the time of publication, a release for the Eastside Golf x Air Jordan 1 High OG has been scheduled for September 22, 2023, on Nike.com and select Swoosh Golf stockists.
Until then, enjoy a detailed look at the collaborative design below.
