While low-top remixes and retro favorites continue to headline Jordan Brand’s release calendar, 2026 will see the brand dive into its lesser-known archives. With the Air Jordan 15’s recent comeback already stirring interest, the next “forgotten retro” to re-emerge is the Air Jordan 16—and it’s doing so in style.

Set for Summer 2026, the Air Jordan 16 returns in collaboration with Ghana’s Free The Youth, marking the creative collective’s first-ever sneaker project with Jordan Brand. Their involvement was hinted at earlier this year, when FTY appeared in the brand’s 40th anniversary video—a move that now feels more like a teaser than a cameo.

The upcoming pair is built on a Greyish-White base, featuring a premium tumbled leather shroud and a mesh-like orange wrap around the heel. But the real story unfolds once the shroud is removed, revealing a striking Orange-to-Black gradient panel with FTY’s bold logo stamped proudly on top. Neon Green accents on the heel and a “Free The Youth” hit on the lateral side round out the aesthetic, all sitting atop a solid Black rubber outsole.

Founded by Jonathan Coffie, Kelly Foli, Winfred Mensah, and Richard Kweku Ormano, Free The Youth has evolved from a style-centered Instagram presence into a full-fledged Ghanaian fashion powerhouse. Their work continues to bridge global art scenes with local streetwear roots, and this collab with Jordan Brand is their most visible moment yet.

Expect the Free The Youth x Air Jordan 16 to release in Summer 2026.
