The next generation of Jordan Brand athletes is taking over the performance footwear division of the brand, with Jayson Tatum joining fellow young guns Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson with his very own signature Jordan sneaker — the Jordan JT1 — and today, we get a very first look at the model.
Stacked with the brand’s new Formula23 cushioning, over-accentuated lateral caging, and high-performance engineered mesh, the design is as aggressive as the Forward’s on-court game. One of the first colorways to release, this Jordan JT1 “Zoo” is — like his Air Jordan 34 release of the same name — inspired by family trips to the Franklin Park Zoo. Proffering a black, white, red, and gold make-up, the former dresses the mesh upper, tongue, and collar, while whites assume their typical placement on the midsole — and here, on the risen cage. Splashes of red are worked into the forefoot but primarily do their thin on the animal-inspired heel embroidery. Lastly, a gold Jumpman motif at the ankle and JT logo at the tongue complete the design.
