The Jordan 6 Rings is on a surge of late, with the hybridized silhouette handing out a handful of retro-inspired colorways in recent times. Now, after arriving in an Air Jordan 8 “Aqua”-themed option earlier this week, the mashed-up sneaker has surfaced in a classic colorway from 2010 — one that mirrored an accompanying Air Jordan 6 back in 2010.
The Jordan 6 Rings “Motorsport” looks to return in 2021, donning a one-for-one reincarnation of the release. Mirroring its AJ6 counterpart as best it can within its design restraints, pairing all-white uppers with murdered-out sole units, black laces and laces locks, and the signature elephant print liners. The mismatched 23/Jumpman Motorsport motifs have been moved from the heel to the tongue, found here in the form of rubberized badges. Rear pulls are mimicked one for one, with the rear now displaying embroidered Jumpman branding. Completing the design is a flash of gold underfoot — a representation of the Air Jordan 6’s tongue detail.
Of course, the return of the Jordan 6 Rings “Motorsport” begs the question, will we also be seeing a retro of the Air Jordan 6 in 2021? After all, it is the silhouette’s 30th anniversary next year…
