Jordan Brand is running it back, officially announcing the return of The One — its global basketball tournament created to spotlight the world’s top one-on-one players. Open to hoopers aged 15 to 18, this year’s installment will feature regional qualifiers in over 15 cities, culminating in a global final in New York City this August.
The second edition of the event kicks off in London on May 24 as part of the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic weekend. From there, qualifying rounds will roll through key global cities including Paris, Beijing, Chicago, Tokyo, Manila, and more. Ultimately, 20 elite players — 10 boys and 10 girls — will earn a trip to New York, where they’ll battle in a live-streamed finale to determine who gets crowned The One.
Winners from each bracket will also join the Jordan Brand family as ambassadors — a major opportunity for the next generation of hoopers chasing greatness.
“The One tournament provides a platform for young athletes from around the world to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level,” said Sarah Mensah, President of Jordan Brand. “This event embodies Jordan Brand’s spirit of competition and excellence.”
The tournament format is a nod to Michael Jordan’s early days — battling his brother Larry one-on-one in the backyard — which helped forge the competitive fire that shaped his legendary career. Today, The One serves as a modern celebration of that same mindset.
The inaugural tournament in 2023 concluded in Paris at District 23, with standout performances from Steve Bah of Paris and Tatiana Griffin of Los Angeles, both of whom were named The One and welcomed into the Jumpman family.
This year’s tournament will close with a global DJ battle, blending sport and culture in a uniquely Jordan way. Make sure to follow @jumpman23 for updates and info on how to tune in as well as our official twitter for more.
