The sport of baseball will forever hold a special place in Jordan Brand history due to its personal connection with "His Airness." Over the years, Jumpman logos have appeared across the MLB's diamond, but soon, they'll appear overseas, in the Nippon Professional Baseball league, as part of a collaboration with Tokyo-based team, the Yomiuri Giants (読売ジャイアンツ).
To the uninformed, the linkup between Michael Jordan's eponymous label and an Asian baseball franchise might seem random, but the move is just Jordan Brand's latest project Far East. Throughout its history, Team Jumpman has launched handfuls of exclusive products in Japan—specifically Tokyo—to take M.J.'s legacy worldwide while also celebrating the country's sneaker and streetwear culture.
In March 2023, the first World of Flight store in the country opened in Tokyo's Shibuya district, with an Osaka outpost opening in May 2026.
The collaboration with the Yomiuri Giants further strengthens Jordan Brand's presence in Japan by celebrating Japan's oldest professional sports team, which also happens to be the most-successful baseball franchise with 22 Japan Series titles.

The hero item in the Jordan Brand x Yomiuri Giants collaboration is a special edition baseball jersey developed with the help of Tokyo-based design label Nomarhythm Textile.
Each uniform features an ornate bandana-inspired construction that combines Chicago Bulls colors with floral typography traditionally used by the Yomiuri Giants organization. Nomarhythm Textile's garments become unique, 1-of-1 pieces that exist at the intersection of performance engineering, fashion, and art.
Campaign visuals for the project star athletes like Naoki Yoshikawa (吉川 尚輝), Eito Tanaka (田中 瑛斗), and Yusei Ishizuka (石塚 裕惺).
The Yomiuri Giants men's squad will debut the collaborative Jordan Brand uniforms on-field during a three-game series between July 31-Aug. 2. The women's team are scheduled to wear the collab on Aug. 29 for the round-robin Women’s Baseball G Town Cup tournament.
An expansive lifestyle fan gear capsule is also expected to launch as part of the partnership. Items release through Nike’s digital channels, SNKRS, and World of Flight stores in Japan on July 17; an in-store launch takes pace on July 30 at the Giants Store locations inside the Tokyo Dome.
