It’s a rare occasion that Tinker’s 1988 Air Jordan 3 arrives without its iconic elephant print — even for a Jordan 3-based hybrid silhouette. The print holds the entire character of the shoe, so removing it is a big deal.

You would think that its removal would make a silhouette look out of place — a bit off — but this suede-replaced Jordan Legacy 312 Low has done it so tastefully in soft suede that I didn’t even notice it upon first glance. The tasteful patch of tan cowhide compliments the rich cream tumbled leather upper and sail midsole to perfection, with it’s black and yellow accents providing some stark hits of contrast.
